What is Adult Basic Education?

Adult Basic Education
Funded with Federal, State and local dollars, the free Adult Basic Education (ABE) program helps students improve their reading, writing and math skills. Students enroll hoping to achieve one of four goals: obtain a GED, find employment, retain employment, or brush up to get ready for post secondary school. Adult Basic Education

Think you are ready for the GED but want to make sure? Missoula ABE offers the Test of Adult Basic Education (TABE) to assess your basic skills in reading, writing, and mathematics. You may take the TABE test to assess your educational needs and to determine if you are ready to take the GED. Students enrolling in Adult Basic Education classes can take the TABE for free.

MCPS ABE also works with local employers to help screen applicants for employment and/or training by administering the TABE. The cost of the TABE test is $25. Call 549-8765 to schedule.
